Belarus’ public debt payments estimated at Br8bn in 2021 – FinMin
<p> MINSK, Dec 23 - PrimePress. Belarus’ public debt payments in 2021 are estimated at Br8 billion ($3.1 billion at the rate of National Bank of Belarus). This includes the repayment of Br4.9 billion ($1.9 billion) and debt servicing in the amount of Br3.1 billion ($1.2 billion), according to the guidelines for fiscal and tax policy of Belarus for 2021-2023 posted on the website of the Finance Ministry of Belarus. </p> <p> </p> <p> Payments in foreign exchange will amount to $3 billion: repayment – $1.9 billion, servicing – over $1.1 billion. </p> <p> </p> <p> “The public debt is not supposed to be over 40% of gross domestic product. It is planned to finance public debt servicing in 2021 from the current budget revenues and accumulated balances,” reads the document. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the Finance Ministry, Belarus plans to borrow Br2.5 billion ($974.4 million) in untied loans to refinance part of the debt in 2021, including Br2 billion ($779.5 million) in foreign financial markets and Br500 million ($194.9 million) in the domestic financial market. </p> <p> </p> <p> “The state debt will be partly repaid by from the funds provided to organizations on a repayable basis from foreign creditors’ loans in the amount of 564.6 million Belarusian rubles ($220.1 million) and from the state budget balance in the amount of Br1.86 billion ($724.9 million),” reads the document.
