Belarus premier speaks in favour of resuming EEU transport links asap
<p> MINSK, Dec 4 - PrimePress. Belarus’ Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko expects more active dialogue between the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU - Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia) on the gradual resumption of transport links. He made a statement to this effect at an extended meeting of the EEU Intergovernmental Council, which was held online. </p> <p> </p> <p> “To slow down the spread of coronavirus, unfortunately, we had to take strict measures to limit the movement of passengers between our countries. Given the experience we have already gained in containing and combating the infection, I look forward to a more active dialogue between our Ministries of Health, Transport and other interested agencies on the gradual resumption of communication to facilitate business contacts and business migration,” Prime reports citing said Golovchenko as saying. </p> <p> </p> <p> At the same time, Golovchenko drew attention to the fact that in the conditions of the pandemic, the EEU countries managed to maintain the flow of goods and ensure the functioning of interstate trade relations, the chains of goods and services were preserved. </p> <p> </p> <p> “Considering the principle which says that ‘every cloud has a silver lining’, I am sure that the pandemic will encourage our union to quickly introduce digital technologies in various spheres of life, including the implementation of administrative procedures, the introduction of electronic document turnover,” Golovchenko said.
