This follows from information published by the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat). </p> <p> </p> <p> According to Belstat, the population of Belarus decreased by 0.2% to 9.41 million people in 2019, also by 0.2% to 9.429 million in 2018 and by 0.23% to 9.448 million in 2017. </p> <p> </p> <p> At the same time, in 2020, the urban population decreased by 0.32% to 7.28 million (77.86% of the total population), and the rural population - by 1.76% to 2.069 million (22.14%).
