Belarus poised to expand network of charging stations for electric cars by 2.5 times to 1,300 units by 2030
<p> MINSK, Oct 28 - PrimePress. Belarus’ network of charging stations for electric vehicles (EV) may expand 2.5-fold by 2030 up to 1,300 units. Deputy Prime Minister Yury Nazarov made a statement to this effect during a joint session of both chamber of Belarus’ parliament on 28 October. </p> <p> </p> <p> In his words, there are 486 EV charging stations in Belarus at present. The number will increase to 600 by the end of 2021. Fast charging stations will make up half of the number. Over 1,300 electric vehicle charging stations will be installed in Belarus by 2030 as well as 25 superfast charging complexes in the oblast capitals, in Minsk, and along the main motorways. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belorusneft State Production Association (Rechitsa, Gomel Oblast) plans to run a pilot project to expand the country’s network of fast charging stations for electric cars and electric buses by mid 2022. In 2021 Belorusneft will expand its network of Malanka electric charging stations from 457 to 600 units. Priority is given to the construction of fast charging stations with 150 kW capacity, the equipment for them is produced by Vityaz (Vitebsk Oblast). Also in 2021, they plan to start building two super-fast charging stations with 350 kW capacity. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Belorusneft has been designated as the state operator for development of the electric charging network. </p> <p> </p> <p> The company plans to run a pilot to install superfast charging for electric cars and electric buses by mid 2022.
