Belarus plans to increase annual exports of goods and services by 70% by 2025 to $50 billion against 2019, Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko said, presenting the government action program for the period to 2025 in the House of Representatives of the National Assembly on December 2, 2020. The government’s press posted a video of his speech on Facebook. </p> <p> </p> <p> “We outline two directions for foreign trade: enhancement of the quality of exports and international cooperation. The goal is to increase exports of goods and services in 2025 to $50 billion, primarily by increasing the product marginality, and to conduct professional work with end consumers. The task is to sell rather than ship products,” Golovchenko said. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the prime minister, exports of goods will constitute two-thirds of expected growth. Supplies of high-tech products should nearly double to $2 billion. High development rates are expected in the IT-sector, transport, construction and medical industries. </p> <p> </p> <p> In the next five years, Belarus plans to set up a national export center, involving the entities of the Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus, to ensure professional commercial approaches to the promotion of goods and services in foreign markets, quality import management and fundraising to finance export projects. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, according to official statistics, exports of goods and services decreased in January-September 2020 by 15.5% year on year to $26.319 billion.
