Belarus plans to boost export of travel services 230% to $500m by 2025
<p> MINSK, Feb 3 - PrimePress. The government of Belarus plans to increase the export of tourist services by 230% to $500 million by 2025 against 2021. This is envisaged in the Belarus Hospitable program for 2021-2025 approved by government decree No.58 of January 29, 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> “Development of inbound and domestic tourism, higher competitiveness of tourist services and promotion of national tourist brands on the world market are defined as tourism priorities in,” reads the program posted on the government’s website. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the decree, Br488.45 million ($185.771 million at the exchange rate of the National Bank of Belarus) will be allocated to the program in 2021-2025, including Br164.5 million ($62.564 million) in 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> Only Br18.66 million ($7.096 million) will be allocated from the national budget, and Br5.72 million ($2.175 million) from local budgets. According to the plan, executors are to contribute Br461.52 million ($175.529 million). </p> <p> </p> <p> The Ministry of Sports and Tourism of Belarus is responsible for the implementation of the program. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, the export of tourist services in 2019 totaled $265.4 million dollars; 405,500 organized tourists visited Belarus. According to the decree, Br488.45 million ($185.771 million at the exchange rate of the National Bank of Belarus) will be allocated to the program in 2021-2025, including Br164.5 million ($62.564 million) in 2021.
