Belarus places two Eurobond tranches worth $1.25bn

Belarus placed Eurobonds that will mature in February 2026 worth $500 million at 6.125% per annum and Eurobonds that will mature in February 2031 worth $750 million at 6.375% per annum, Russian RIA Novosti news agency reports, citing a source in the banking system. </p> <p> </p> <p> Total aggregate demand for Belarusian Eurobonds exceeded $4.8 billion. </p> <p> </p> <p> The initial benchmark yield was around 6.625% and 6.875% per annum, respectively, and was reduced to final 6.125-6.25% per annum for the five-year issue and 6.375-6.5% per annum for the ten-year issue. </p> <p> </p> <p> As reported, Belarusian representatives have been in talks with investors since June 16. Citi, Raiffeisen Bank International, Societe Generale and Renaissance Capital acted as organizers. </p> <p> </p> <p> In March 2020, Belarus postponed the placement of Eurobonds denominated in dollars and euros indefinitely due to market volatility caused by the coronavirus pandemic. The Ministry of Finance said that Belarus was going to place Eurobonds in 2020, taking into account the market environment. End </p>
