Belarus’ overdue corporate debt to foreign cos down 7.1% in Jan-Sep 2020 to $484.7m

The overdue debt of Belarusian enterprises to foreign companies decreased by 7.1% year on year in January-September 2020 to U.S. $484.7 million as of October 1, 2020, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> The overdue debt to Russian companies was up 32.7% in Jan-Sep 2020 to $205.4 million; debts to non-Russian enterprises within the CIS – down 35.1% to $24.1 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> The overdue debt to foreign countries other than the CIS states decreased in Jan-Sep 2020 by 22.6% to $255.2 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> Foreign companies’ overdue debt to Belarusian enterprises was down 20.4% in Jan-Sep 2020 to $348.3 million as of Oct 1, 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Russian companies’ overdue debt to Belarusian enterprises decreased by 22.1% to $109.9 million as of Oct 1, 2020. The overdue debt of non-Russian enterprises in the CIS was down 52.6% to $48.2 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> The overdue debt of companies of foreign countries other than the CIS states to Belarusian enterprises totaled $190.2 million as of Oct 1, 2020, down 2.5% since early 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus’ overdue external corporate debt was 39.2% bigger than foreign companies’ liabilities to this country as of Oct 1, 2020 against 19.2% as of Jan 1, 2020.
