Belarus’ overdue corporate debt to foreign cos down 3.1% to $505.4m in Jan-Jun 2020

The overdue debt of Belarusian enterprises to foreign companies decreased by 3.1% year on year in January-June 2020 to U.S. $505.4 million as of July 1, 2020, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> The overdue debt to Russian companies was up 3.4% in Jan-Jun 2020 to $160.1 million; debts to non-Russian enterprises within the CIS – down 27.9% to $26.8 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> The overdue debt to foreign countries other than the CIS states decreased in Jan-Jun 2020 by 3.4% to $318.5 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> Foreign companies’ overdue debt to Belarusian enterprises was down 6.9% in Jan-Jun 2020 to $407.7 million as of Jul 1, 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Russian companies’ overdue debt to Belarusian enterprises decreased by 4.3% to $135 million as of Jul 1, 2020. The overdue debt of non-Russian enterprises in the CIS was down 12.2% to $89.3 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> The overdue debt of companies of foreign countries other than the CIS states to Belarusian enterprises totaled $183.4 million as of Jul 1, 2020, down 6% since early 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus’ overdue external corporate debt was 24% bigger than foreign companies’ liabilities to this country as of Jul 1, 2020 against 19.2% as of Jan 1, 2020.
