Belarus opens embassy in Colombia on 25 October

Belarus’ Embassy in Colombia was opened on 25 October 2021, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus said in a statement. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yevgeny Shestakov, who was on a visit to the Republic of Colombia at the time, attended the official ceremony to open the embassy. </p> <p> </p> <p> Shestakov stressed the importance of Colombia for Belarus as a promising partner in Latin America. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Belarus will open its embassy in Zimbabwe by 31 January 2022. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus will reduce and close its embassies in the countries where there are no prospects of a diplomatic presence. Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko made a statement to this effect on 6 April during a meeting to discuss the ways of the ways of streamlining Belarus’ network of foreign missions. End </p>
