Another reason behind the decline in export revenues is that the average export price of Belarusian oil products reduced by 36.1% year on year in H1 2020 to $325 per tonne.

According to the Central Dispatching Department of Fuel Energy Complex of the Russian Federation, Russia’s oil export to Belarus in the first half of 2020 decreased by 44.3% year on year to 4.646 million tonnes, the planned volume in January-June being 12.867 million. In January-June 2020, 2.078 million tonnes were supplied to the Mozyr refinery against planned 6.409 million (514,900 tonnes in June; 1.007 million previously planned); 2.567 million tonnes went to Naftan against planned 6.458 million tonnes (489,900 tonnes in June, 995,100 planned).

As previously reported, Belarus reduced export of oil products in 2019 by 11.7% year on year to 10.5 million tonnes. In money terms, Belarus’ oil products export decreased by 19.7% to $5.2 billion. The decrease in foreign exchange proceeds was primarily due scheduled repairs at the Belarusian oil refineries, a decline in oil product prices, and a decrease in the physical volume of exported oil products caused by the accident with the supply of substandard Russian oil to Belarus.
