Belarus needs Br4.809bn for spring farming in 2021

Belarus needs Br4.809 billion ($1.852 billion at the rate of National Bank of Belarus) to perform spring agricultural works in 2021, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of Belarus reports on its website. </p> <p> </p> <p> The spring field works from January to May 2021 require Br2.275 billion ($ 876.439 million). In 2020, it was planned to spend Br4.269 billion ($1.644 billion), including Br1.94 billion ($747.217 million) in January-May 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the financing plan, of Br3.169 billion ($1.22 billion) for field works, agricultural enterprises will contribute Br1.266 billion ($487.732 million) to compare with Br1.068 million ($411.355 million) in 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belagroprombank will allocate Br599.5 million ($230.905 million) in soft loans for the procurement of fuel, lubricants, mineral and nitrogen fertilizers in 2021 (Br594 million or $228.787 million in 2020); advance payments for the purchase of crops – Br131.1 million ($50.495 million dollars) against Br117 million ($45.0641 million) in 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belagroprombank and Belarusbank will provide Br285.2 million ($109.849 million) in soft loans in accordance with Council of Ministers’ resolution No.787 of December 30, 2020, including additional funds placed by the Finance Ministry with Belagroprombank. </p> <p> </p> <p> Subventions from the budget to lime soils will amount to Br69.8 million ($26.884 million); subventions to finance Chernobyl disaster relief measures – Br71.2 million ($27.424 million); local budgets to subsidize current activities, including premiums for sold products – Br423.7 million ($163.194 million) to finance farm works. </p> <p> </p> <p> The purchase of fuel and lubricants in 2021 will require Br1.604 billion ($617.725 million), including Br529.7 million ($204.021 million) in January-May; purchase of mineral fertilizers including transportation costs – Br1.5 billion ($577.861 million), including Br728.3 million ($280.514 million) in January-May. </p> <p> </p> <p> The cost of plant protection agents is estimated at Br666.1 million ($256.557 million), including Br348.8 million ($134.345 million) in January-May; repair and maintenance of equipment – Br472.7 million ($182.067 million), including Br293.7 million ($113.122 million) in January-May; liming of soils – Br79.7 million ($30.697 million), including Br29.7 million ($11.439 million) in January-May. </p> <p> </p> <p> The purchase seeds in 2021 will require Br322.9 million ($124.369 million), including Br256.6 million ($98.833 million) in January-May 2021; repayment of the debt for diesel fuel – Br163.5 million ($62.974 million), including Br88.7 million ($34.164 million) in January-May. </p> <p> </p> <p> There is a shortfall of Br1.64 billion ($631.784 million) in 2021 against Br1.266 billion ($487.617 million) in 2020.
