Belarus’ mineral fertilizer output up 27.8% in Jan-May 2021 to 3.971m tonnes
<p> MINSK, Jul 1 – PrimePress. Belarus’ output of all kinds of mineral fertilizers increased by 27.8% on the year in January-May 2021 to 3.971 million tonnes (in terms of the core fertilizer component), Belarus’ Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> Potash fertilizer output increased by 32.6% on the year in Jan-May 2021 to 3.452 million tonnes, phosphate fertilizers – up 12.2% to 99,800 tonnes, nitrogen fertilizers – up 1% year on year to 418,100 tonnes. </p> <p> </p> <p> Mineral fertilizer inventories stood at 145,900 tonnes as of June 1, 2021 (18.4% of average monthly output): potash fertilizer inventories - 141,000 tonnes (20.4%), nitrogen fertilizers – 4,800 (5.8%), phosphate fertilizers – 100 tonnes (0.5%). </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Belarus’ output of all kinds of mineral fertilizers grew 2.3% on the year in 2020 to 8.697 million tonnes (in terms of the core fertilizer component). Output of potash fertilizers stood at 7.554 million tonnes (up 2.8% yoy), nitrogen fertilizers – down 1.1% to 928,300 tonnes, and output of phosphate fertilizers went down 0.9% to 215,000 tonnes.
