Belarus’ meat output up 1.8% in 2020 to 1.061m tonnes

Belarus’ output meat and edible offal increased in January-December 2020 by 1.8% year on year to 1.061 million tonnes, the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat) said in an official report. </p> <p> </p> <p> Beef output increased in 2020 by 4.3% year on year to 215,600 tonnes; pork – up 2.5% to 239,700 tonnes; poultry meat – up 0.3% to 510,400 tonnes; sausages – up 1.9% to 264,800 tonnes. </p> <p> </p> <p> Output of finished and canned pork products was up 3.4% to 34,535 tonnes; finished and canned beef products – up 2.3% to 10,514 tonnes. </p> <p> </p> <p> Meat and edible offal inventories totaled 10,200 tonnes as of Jan 1, 2021 (11.7% of average monthly output), including beef – 2,200 tonnes (11.2%); pork – 1,600 tonnes (8.3%); poultry meat – 4,500 tonnes (10.6%); sausages – 2,000 tonnes (9.7%), finished and canned pork products – 1,090 tonnes (38.1%); finished and canned beef products – 1,212 tonnes (138.4%).
