Belarus is likely to extend the compulsory protective mask wearing period until June 2021 as part of COVID-19 response measures, says Acting Health Minister of Belarus Dmitry Pinevich. </p> <p> </p> <p> “Mask wearing and social distancing should be observed until the end of the epidemic, at least until the disease rate is down, possibly, until June,” Pinevich said on Belarus-1 TV channel. </p> <p> </p> <p> He said that the Grodno and Minsk Oblasts are currently at the peak of the coronavirus incidence. The number of cases registered in the Gomel, Vitebsk and Mogilev Oblasts is rapidly increasing. The incidence in the Brest Oblast is growing the slowest. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the Health Ministry of Belarus, 125,500 COVID-19 cases were registered as of November 23, 2020; 1,104 people died. On the previous day, the ministry reported 1,483 new coronavirus cases; eight patients died. End </p>
