Belarus may allow the retail sale of alcohol, low alcohol drinks, beer and tobacco products of Belarusian manufacture through online stores from July 1 to December 31, 2020 as an experiment, as per draft presidential decree on online retail trade, a source in the industry told PrimePress. </p> <p> </p> <p> This may be done to reduce unnecessary social contacts during the coronavirus pandemic. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the draft, only licensed legal entities and individual entrepreneurs will be able to sell alcohol and tobacco products through online stores. </p> <p> </p> <p> Registration and delivery of goods can be only carried out from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Payments will only be non-cash. One check must amount to Br30 ($12.49 at the rate of the National Bank of Belarus) or over, and no more than 5 liters of any type of alcohol, including beer, will be allowed. The buyer must show an ID to confirm that he or she has attained 18 years of age. </p> <p> </p> <p> The draft is currently under consideration by the government. End </p>
