ASMAP stated, citing freight carriers that the requirements could not be met, Belarus has few parking spaces and their areas are insufficient. Besides, border jams make it impossible to meet the transit deadline. ASMAP asked Secretary of State of the Belarus-Russia Union State Grigory Rapota in mid-June to apply to the government of Belarus in order to expedite the lifting of the transit restrictions for Russian road carriers. The Association pointed to the fact that Belarus did not apply large-scale quarantine measures in connection with the coronavirus pandemic, did not shut down industrial enterprises, educational and preschool institutions, did not cancel social, entertainment and sporting events, and did not limit in any way the transportation of goods to the republic. Strict restrictions are only imposed on the transit of vehicles engaged in international road transportation. End </p>
