Belarus’ life:) telecom operator offers virtual eSIM card

Belarusian telecom operator life:) has launched the eSIM virtual card service, the company’s press office says. </p> <p> </p> <p> The eSIM virtual card is a chip built into the device which replaces a standard plastic SIM card and does not require a dedicated slot. The subscriber can store several numbers and switch between them when required. </p> <p> </p> <p> New life:) subscribers will be able to choose an eSIM for free in stores or in the online stores. The data is loaded into the device with the help of a special QR code. Active subscribers can switch to eSIM in the Personal Area. The switch price is set at Br7.9 ($3.1 at the rate of the National Bank of Belarus). </p> <p> </p> <p> The eSIM is available on Apple devices (including iPhone XR, XS, XS Max, SE (2020), iPhone 11/12, 11/12 Pro, 11/12 Pro Max, 12 mini, and some other devices), and on Samsung Galaxy S20, S20+, S20 Ultra, Fold, Fold 2, Z Flip, Huawei P40, P40 Pro, Google Pixel 3/3a/3 XL/4a/4 XL and some other smartphones. </p> <p> </p> <p> BeST CJSC (life:)) was licensed to provide communication services on March 24, 2005, and began commercial operation of its network on December 21, 2005. The provision of services under the life:) brand began on December 3, 2008. The operator has been rendering 3G-based services since November 2, 2009, and LTE-based services since August 2016.
