Belarus leasing cos’ portfolio up 1.24% in Q1 2021 to Br6.4bn

<p> MINSK, May 27 - PrimePress. The total portfolio of lease contracts by Belarus’ leasing companies grew by 1.24% in January-March 2021 to Br6.4 billion ($2.554 billion) as of April 1, 2021, Belarus’ Association of Lease Providers reports. </p> <p>   </p> <p> The number of effective lease contracts in Q1 2021 reduced by 18.7% year on year to 215,558. </p> <p>   </p> <p> The portfolio of lease contracts with corporate customers stood at Br5.527 billion ($2.205 billion) – a total of 40,245 contracts as of Mar 31, 2021 (down 0.8% since Jan 1, 2021). Lease contracts with corporate customers accounts for 86.3% of the total portfolio. </p> <p>   </p> <p> The total number of personal lease contracts reached 175,313, down 21.3%. The portfolio was up 4.2% to Br875.3 million ($349.3m). </p> <p>   </p> <p> The total value of contracts concluded in Jan-Mar 2021 totalled Br857.8 million ($342.3m), of which 76.5% are investment leasing contracts, 23.5% - consumer leasing. </p> <p>   </p> <p> New contracts of Belarus’ leasing companies (the total value of lease items without VAT) accounted for Br550 million ($219.4 million). </p> <p>   </p> <p> Overdue leasing fees totalled Br228.1 million ($91m) as of Mar 31, 2021, 3.56% of the total portfolio against 2.7% as of Mar 31, 2020. </p> <p>   </p> <p> As of Mar 31, 2021, 110 business entities were listed in the Register of Leasing Organizations of the National Bank of Belarus.
