Belarus invites China to start second stage of Great Stone Park construction – Snopkov

Belarus has invited China to begin the second stage of the construction of the Belarusian-Chinese Great Stone Industrial Park and to build a second substation, a residential cluster for leasing 172 apartments, a bus station, and to supply eight electric buses, First Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Nikolai Snopkov, head of the Belarusian delegation to the Belarusian-Chinese Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee, said at the meeting of the Committee on December 14, 2020, the press service of the Belarusian government reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to Snopkov, Great Stone has registered 67 resident companies from 14 countries, and the total declared investments have reached $1.2 billion. </p> <p> </p> <p> “Despite the accomplishments thus far achieved, we should not lose momentum, look for new development options,” said Snopkov. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the official, Belarus and China’s financial and credit cooperation is being taken to a new level. Belarus has ensured preferential legal conditions for the Chinese-Belarusian venture investment fund, granting tax benefits. Snopkov invited Chinese companies to work with the fund. Belarus plans a comprehensive project to ensure financial stability and raise the living standards in this challenging economic environment, hoping for China’s support. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Great Stone Park is located in the area of the Minsk National International Airport in the area of 112.5 sq. km. The special preferential legal regime is granted to the Park until 2062. Its residents mainly focus on electronics, biomedicine, fine chemistry and mechanical engineering. The declared investment for residents is $5 million (at least $500,000 for a research project). The land in the Park can be privatized. End </p>
