Belarus instructs its embassies to achieve 30/30/30 export shares – premier
<p> MINSK, Aug 25 - PrimePress. The government of Belarus instructs the Belarusian embassies to work by the 30/30/30 export formula with equal shares of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), the European Union (EU) and third countries, Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko said on August 25 at the meeting of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers, the Council of Ministers’ press office reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> “In the first half of the year, the share of exports to the EEU made up 50.2%, to the EU – 17.1%, other countries – 32.7%. The EU market subsided mainly due a decrease in the export of oil products to Europe,” the prime minister said. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to Golovchenko, the surplus of foreign trade in goods and services in 1H20 stood at $757 million, which is $488 million more than in 2019. </p> <p> </p> <p> He said, citing the National Bank of Belarus, that exports of goods and services in 1H20 decreased by 16.9% year on year. </p> <p> </p> <p> “This is partly due to the pandemic, frozen markets and a whole range of external factors that undoubtedly influenced foreign trade. The price and commodity situation in foreign markets changed. There were problems in the oil refining and other industries. Nevertheless, some industries virtually did not feel the impact of the pandemic-related restrictions and even improved their foreign trade performance. Farm exports increased by 6.4%, education services – by 3.1%, IT services – by 21.6%,” Golovchenko said. End </p>
