Belarus’ industrial output up 9.2% in Jan-Mar 2021 to Br33.761bn

Belarus’ industrial output increased by 9.2% on the year in January-March 2021 to Br33.761 billion, or U.S. $13 billion at the official rate of the National Bank, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a statement. </p> <p> </p> <p> Output of coke and oil products increased by 47.1% year on year in Jan-Mar 2021 to Br4.362 billion ($1.68bn). Output of foods, beverages and tobacco goods grew by 1.6% year on year to Br7.97 billion ($3.07 billion), chemical products – up 24.2% to Br2.93 billion ($1.13 million), Belstat said in a statistical report. </p> <p> </p> <p> Output of metallurgical industries was up 4.6% to Br2.37 billion ($912.9 million), production of vehicles and equipment grew by 4% to Br1.48 billion ($570.1 million). </p> <p> </p> <p> Output of plastic and rubber goods, other non-metal mineral products decreased by 5.4% in Jan-Mar 2021 to Br1.92 billion ($739.6 million). </p> <p> </p> <p> Output of electronic and optical equipment in Belarus increased by 14.7% yr on yr in Jan-Mar 2021 to Br556.6 million ($214.4 million), electrical equipment – up 11.4% to Br828.7 million ($319.2 million). </p> <p> </p> <p> Output of machines and equipment (which do not belong to other statistical categories) stood at Br2.092 billion ($805.9 million) in Jan-Mar 2021, up 17.8% year on year.
