Belarus’ industrial output up 8.6% in Jan-Aug 2021 to Br97.637bn
<p> MINSK, Sep 17 – PrimePress. Belarus’ industrial output increased by 8.6% on the year in January-August 2021 to Br97.637 billion, or U.S. $39.291 billion at the official rate of the National Bank, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a statement. </p> <p> </p> <p> Production of food, beverages and tobacco products increased by 2.3% to Br22.871 billion ($9.204 billion, $1 - $2.485) in January-August 2021, according to Belstat. </p> <p> </p> <p> The volume of metallurgy and fabricated metal products increased by 8% on January-August 2021 to Br7.362 billion ($2.963 billion), while the production of vehicles and equipment increased by 16.5% to Br4.39 billion ($1.767 billion). </p> <p> </p> <p> Output of rubber and plastic products and other non-metallic mineral products in January-August 2021 grew 0.1% year on year at Br6.354 billion ($2.557 billion); computer, electronic and optical equipment - increased by 19.5% to Br1.578 billion ($635 million). The production of electrical equipment increased by 12.6% to Br2.469 million ($993.6 million). </p> <p> </p> <p> Output of machines and equipment (which do not belong to other statistical categories) stood at Br6.187 billion ($2.49 billion) in Jan-Aug 2021, up 18.3% year on year. </p> <p> </p> <p> Since July 2021, Belstat has stopped publishing data on the dynamics and volumes of production of coke and refined oil products, as well as chemical products. Production of food, beverages and tobacco products increased by 2.3% to Br22.871 billion ($9.204 billion, $1 - $2.485) in January-August 2021, according to Belstat.
The volume of metallurgy and fabricated metal products increased by 8% on January-August 2021 to Br7.362 billion ($2.963 billion), while the production of vehicles and equipment increased by 16.5% to Br4.39 billion ($1.767 billion).
Output of rubber and plastic products and other non-metallic mineral products in January-August 2021 grew 0.1% year on year at Br6.354 billion ($2.557 billion); computer, electronic and optical equipment - increased by 19.5% to Br1.578 billion ($635 million). The production of electrical equipment increased by 12.6% to Br2.469 million ($993.6 million).
