Belarus’ industrial output up 11.1% in Jan-May 2021 to Br58.46bn

Belarus’ industrial output increased by 11.1% on the year in January-May 2021 to Br58.46 billion, or U.S. $23.43 billion at the official rate of the National Bank, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a statement. </p> <p> </p> <p> Output of coke and oil products increased by 25.8% year on year in Jan-May 2021 to Br7.669 billion ($3.073bn). Output of foods, beverages and tobacco goods grew by 2.7% year on year to Br13.831 billion ($5.543 billion), chemical products – up 20.3% to Br5.137 billion ($2.059 million), Belstat said in a statistical report. </p> <p> </p> <p> Output of metallurgical industries was up 9.1% to Br4.205 billion ($1.69 billion), production of vehicles and equipment grew by 13.1% to Br2.504 billion ($1 billion). </p> <p> </p> <p> Output of plastic and rubber goods, other non-metal mineral products decreased by 0.3% in Jan-May 2021 to Br3.61 billion ($1.447 million). </p> <p> </p> <p> Output of electronic and optical equipment in Belarus increased by 25.9% yr on yr in Jan-May 2021 to Br913.8 million ($366.2 million), electrical equipment – up 17.1% to Br1.441 billion ($577.46 million). </p> <p> </p> <p> Output of machines and equipment (which do not belong to other statistical categories) stood at Br3.723 billion ($1.49 billion) in Jan-May 2021, up 22.2% year on year.
