Belarus’ grain harvest less than planned – vice premier

Considering the outcome of the current harvesting campaign, Belarus will receive a smaller grain harvest than planned, said Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Alexander Subbotin, according to a report on the website of the Council of Ministers. </p> <p> </p> <p> In his words, Belarus is short of more than a million tons of grain this year. </p> <p> </p> <p> The vice premier noted that the deficit of fresh grain as cattle fodder will be covered by transition residues, oil cake from colza oilseeds and sugar beet pulp. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, the 2021 grain production target for state-owned farms and private farms set by the Ministry of Agriculture stood at 8.545 million tonnes.
