Belarus govt proposes restrictions on sale of alcoholic beverages, non-tobacco nicotine-containing products
<p> MINSK, Oct 1 - PrimePress. The government of Belarus proposes to introduce restrictions on the sale of alcoholic beverages and nicotine-containing products. This is stated in the draft resolution of the Council of Ministers of Belarus submitted for public discussion. The draft resolution provides for amendments to the governmental resolution No. 703 of 22 July 2014 “On sale of certain goods, on public catering and the procedure for drawing up and approving the list of goods,” said the National Legal Internet Portal. </p> <p> </p> <p> The amendments allow catering companies to sell alcoholic beverages by pour to legal entities and individual entrepreneurs on the basis of a licence for the retail sale of alcoholic beverages (subject to opening the consumer packaging of such beverage); the right of the seller to refuse to sell the goods if the sale of such goods to minors is prohibited, if the buyer fails to provide a document establishing the age of the buyer. </p> <p> </p> <p> It is also planned to prohibit the sale of tobacco-free nicotine-containing products in territories and premises occupied by educational, healthcare, cultural, physical culture and sports institutions; to change the wording of the term “brand shop” in terms of the procedure for calculating the specific weight of the manufacturer (manufacturers). </p> <p> </p> <p> Comments and proposals on the draft will be accepted until 11 October 2021.
