Belarus govt invites China’s CITIC to build new nitrogen plant for Grodno Azot
<p> MINSK, Nov 3 - PrimePress. The government of Belarus has invited the Chinese company CITIC Construction to participate in the investment project to build a new nitrogen plant at Grodno Azot. The issue was discussed at the meeting of Belarusian Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko and Deputy President of CITIC Construction Yang Jianqiang. </p> <p> </p> <p> Golovchenko mentioned that CITIC Construction has been active in Belarus since 2007, taking part in major investment projects not only as a general contractor but also as a co-investor in the BelGee car manufacturing project (Borisov, Minsk Oblast). </p> <p> </p> <p> Golovchenko referred to the nitrogen plant at Grodno Azot as a very important for Belarus. “We are interested in making the new nitrogen complex one of the most efficient projects in the world among similar production facilities due to the application of the most modern technologies and the competitive cost of the project as a whole. We are interested in its completion in 2025,” Golovchenko said. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to the government's press service, Yang Jianqiang confirmed the Chinese side’s readiness to participate in the project. </p> <p> </p> <p> The meeting focused on promising projects that CITIC Construction is implementing and plans to implement in Belarus. This included the Belarusian National Biotechnology Corporation (BNBC, Pukhovichi District, Minsk Oblast), which is building a high-tech full-cycle agro-industrial production facility near Minsk. </p> <p> </p> <p> Yang Jianqiang noted that the BNBC project provides for the production of feed, amino acids. In the pipeline is the so-called BNBC-3 promising project to make vitamins, amino acids, starch and glucose products. This project will make it possible to launch the production of vitamins (B2, B12, C) and new types of amino acids (valine, leucine, isoleucine), which will be a brand new thing for Belarus and the CIS countries.
