Belarus’ govt expects signing of oil supply contracts with Russia before 2021 – Golovchenko
<p> MINSK, Dec 28 - PrimePress. All contracts for oil supplies from Russia to Belarus in 2021 will be signed before the end of this year. Contracts with some major Russian suppliers are already in place, says Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko. </p> <p> </p> <p> “There is no tension this year. Issues are being resolved in a routine manner. We agreed with the Russian government that the talks should not be protracted until the last minute,” Golovchenko said on December 27, 2020 on Belarus-1 TV channel. </p> <p> </p> <p> Processing volumes will be determined based on economic feasibility. Russia is ready to supply as much as we can refine with profit, around 18 million tonnes. This will depend, of course, on the market environment,” said Golovchenko. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Belarus and Russia failed to agree in early 2020 on oil supplies due to price disagreements. Belarus began diversifying supplies, looking for other sources of oil. Currently, Belarus imports the bulk of oil from the Russian Federation through the Druzhba pipeline.
