Belarus’ GDP up 3% in Jan-Aug 2021 to Br110.897bn

Belarus’ gross domestic product (GDP) grew by 3% year on year in January-August 2021 to Br110.897 billion ($44.494bn at the rate of the National Bank of Belarus), the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> Industrial output was up 8.6% year on year in Jan-Aug 2021 to Br97.637 billion ($39.174bn). </p> <p> </p> <p> Farm output reduced by 4.6% year on year in Jan-Aug 2021 to Br14.309 billion ($5.741bn). </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Belarus’ GDP declined by 0.9% year on year in 2020 to Br147.006 billion ($59bn), the official growth forecast being 2.8%.
