Belarus’ GDP up 0.8% in Jan-Feb 2021 to Br23.327bn
<p> MINSK, Mar 17 - PrimePress. Gross domestic product (GDP) of Belarus grew by 0.8% year on year in January-February 2021 to Br23.327 billion ($9 billion at the rate of the National Bank of Belarus), the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (NBB) reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> Industrial output was up 8.3% year on year in Jan-Feb 2021 to Br21.354 billion ($8.4bn). </p> <p> </p> <p> Farm output increased in Jan-Feb 2021 by 1% year on year to Br2.067bn ($797.52m). </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Belarus’ GDP declined by 0.9% year on year in 2020 to Br147.006 billion ($57bn), the official growth forecast being 2.8%. Industrial output was down 0.7% to Br116.477 billion ($45.2bn); farm output – up 4.9% to Br22.914 billion ($8.9bn). Belarusian authorities expect 1.8% GDP growth in 2021.
