Belarus’ food industry reports 5.8% increase in whole-milk products output in Jan-Oct, 2020 to 1.764m tonnes

Food industry enterprises of Belarus increased output of whole-milk products (in milk equivalent) in January-October 2020 by 5.8% year on year to 1.764 million tonnes, the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> Output of low-fat dairy products (in skim milk equivalent) decreased by 28.3% to 56,200 tonnes. </p> <p> </p> <p> Output of butter in Jan-Oct 2020 was up 3.7% year on year to 100,100 tonnes; cheese (except cream cheese spread) – up 10.5% to 221,700 tonnes. </p> <p> </p> <p> The output of milk powder and cream increased by 6.7% to 136,300 tonnes; unsolid condensed milk and cream – up 27.4% to 68,600 tonnes. </p> <p> </p> <p> As of Nov 1, 2020, whole-milk product inventories amounted to 23,100 tonnes (13.1% of monthly average output), low-fat dairy products – 600 tonnes (11.3%); butter – 3,000 tonnes (30.1%); cheese – 10,400 tonnes (41.8%); milk powder and cream – 4,800 tonnes (39%); unsolid condensed milk and cream – 4,100 tonnes (88.1%).
