Belarus food industry enterprises cut the meat output by 5.3% in January-July to 598,800 tonnes

Belarusian food industry enterprises reduced output of meat and edible by-products by 5.3% year on year in January-July 2021 down to 598,800 tonnes, according to the National Statistical Committee of Belarus (Belstat). </p> <p> </p> <p> Production of beef increased by 5.6% yoy up to 146.5 thousand tons, pork - down 2.6% to 140.1 thousand tons, poultry - down by 12.7% to 267 thousand tons. </p> <p> </p> <p> Production of sausage products rose by 6% yoy to 158.3 thousand tons, ready-made and canned pork products - fell by 2.1% to 19.235 thousand tons, ready-made and canned cattle meat products - fell by 7.9% to 5.744 thousand tons. </p> <p> </p> <p> As of August 1, 2021 inventories of meat and edible offal in warehouses of companies amounted to 10.1 thousand tons (12.1% of average monthly output), including beef - 2.9 thousand tons (13.7%), pork - 1.2 thousand tons (6.3%), poultry meat - 4,200 tonnes (11.1%), sausages - 2,100 tonnes (9.8%), ready and canned pork products - 799 tonnes (29.4%), ready and canned cattle meat products - 1,517 tonnes (185.2%).
