Belarus Finance Ministry proposes introducing structured bonds - bill
<p> MINSK, Dec 24 - PrimePress. The Ministry of Finance of Belarus proposes putting into circulation structured bonds whose payments will depend on the occurrence of certain conditions, which will allow issuers to have their risks insured. </p> <p> </p> <p> The new type of Belarus’ public bonds is stipulated in the bill on amendments to the Law “On the securities market” of January 5, 2015, which was submitted for public discussion at the Belarusian Legal Forum from December 24, 2020 to January 3, 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> The substantiation report says that is certain conditions should occur, bond payments to the investors may be less than the face value of structured bonds. Moreover, structured bonds do not provide for early redemption, with a few exceptions. </p> <p> </p> <p> It is expected that the issuers of structured bonds will be banks, non-bank financial institutions (as agreed with the National Bank), professional traders and special financial institutions.
