Belarus’ farm output up 4.9% yr in Jan-Nov 2020 to Br21.729bn

Belarus’ farm output grew by 4.9% on the year in January-November 2020 to 21.729 billion Belarusian rubles ($8.443 billion at the official exchange rate), the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> Sales of fattened cattle and poultry increased by 3.5% on the year in Jan-Nov 2020 to 1.546 million tonnes; milk sales grew by 6.5% to 6.22 million tonnes, eggs – to 3.205 billion, down 0.9 against Jan-Nov 2019. </p> <p> </p> <p> The value of accounts payable in the agricultural sector stood at Br8.892 billion ($3.455 billion) as of Nov 1, 2020, up 4.6% year on year. Overdue accounts payable totaled Br2.394 billion ($930.2 million) as of Nov 1, 2020, down 11.2% against Jan 1, 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Accounts receivable amounted to Br1.693 billion ($657.8 million) as of Nov 1, 2020, up 5.3% against Jan 1, 2020. Overdue accounts receivable totaled Br439.1 million ($170.6 million), down 2.1%. </p> <p> </p> <p> The share of loss-making agricultural companies as of Nov 1, 2020 made up 7.7% (99) of the total number to compare with 7.9% (102) as of Nov 1, 2019. </p> <p> </p> <p> The total net profit earned by Belarus’ agricultural companies in Jan-Oct 2020 stood at Br877.8 million ($341.1m), down 6% year on year.
