Belarus’ farm output up 2.8% yr in Jan-Jul 2020 to Br9.909bn

Belarus’ farm output grew by 2.8% on the year in Jan-Jul 2020 to 9.909 billion Belarusian rubles ($3.807 billion at the official exchange rate), the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> Sales of fattened cattle and poultry increased by 6% on the year in Jan-Jul 2020 to 991,700 tonnes; milk sales grew by 7% to 3.991 million tonnes, eggs – down 0.1% to 2.078 billion. </p> <p> </p> <p> The value of accounts payable in the agricultural sector stood at Br9.056 billion ($3.479 billion) as of Jul 1, 2020, up 6.6% year on year. Overdue accounts payable totaled Br2.574 billion ($0.989 billion), down 4.5% against Jan 1, 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> Accounts receivable amounted to Br1.665 billion ($639.7 million) as of Jul 1, 2020, up 3.6% against Jan 1, 2020. Overdue accounts receivable totaled Br447.6 million ($172 million), down 0.2%. </p> <p> </p> <p> The share of loss-making agricultural companies as of Jul 1, 2020 made up 8.6% (112) of the total number to compare with 9.9% (129) as of Jul 1, 2019. </p> <p> </p> <p> The total net profit earned by Belarus’ agricultural companies in Jan-Jun 2020 stood at Br555.1 million ($213.3m), up 9.5% year on year.
