Belarus’ farm output down 4.4% yr in Jan-Nov 2021 to Br23.693bn

Belarus’ farm output reduced by 4.4% on the year in January-November 2021 to 23.693 billion Belarusian rubles ($9.439 billion at the official exchange rate), the National Statistics Committee (Belstat) said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> Sales of fattened cattle and poultry decreased by 2.8% on the year in Jan-Nov 2021 to 1.584m tonnes; milk sales grew by 1.1% to 6.97 million tonnes, eggs – to 2.726 billion, up 3.3% year on year. </p> <p> </p> <p> The number of cattle in Belarus decreased by 1.4% year on year in January-November 2021 to 4.149 million head, pigs - by 11.5% to 2.315 million head. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to Belstat, fodder production decreased by 6.7% yoy in Jan-Nov 2021 to 13.462m tonnes. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, the gross harvest of cereals and leguminous crops (excluding maize) in farms of all categories was 6.387 million tons as of November 1, 2021, which is 19.6% less than as of November 1, 2020; potatoes - 643,100 tonnes, down 8.1% year on year; vegetables harvested in the open field – down 24.4% to 120,700 tonnes.
