Belarus’ export revenues down 10.3% in 2020 to $37.439bn

Belarus’ foreign exchange revenues from exports of goods, services, non-financial transfers of companies and private households decreased by 10.3% year on year in 2020 to $37.439 billion, reads a statistical report released by the National Bank of Belarus. </p> <p> </p> <p> In December 2020 alone, foreign exchange revenues amounted to $4.118 billion, up 23.3% month on month, up 5.6% to compare with Dec 2019. </p> <p> </p> <p> Revenues from commodity exports reduced by 11.4% year on year in Jan-Dec 2020 to $27.717 billion, export of services – down 6.7% to $8.859 billion, incomes – down 13% to $265.7 million, other transfers – down 9.2% to $598.5 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> Payments for imported goods and services, non-financial transfers of companies and private households decreased by 8.8% year on year in Jan-Dec 2020 to $36.595 billion. In Dec 2020 alone, payments for imported goods and services and non-financial transfers amounted to $3.822 billion, up 25.7% month on month, down 5.2% to compare with Dec 2019. </p> <p> </p> <p> Payments for imported of goods decreased 12% year on year to $29.625 billion, payments for imported services – up 7.2% to $4.954 billion, payments of incomes – up 13.4% to $1.344 billion; transfers – up 2.5% to $672.4 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> All in all, Belarus produced a surplus of foreign trade payments for goods, services, non-financial transfers of companies and private households in Jan-Dec 2020 in the amount of $844.5 million to compare with a $1.61 billion surplus in Jan-Dec 2019.
