Belarus’ export of fresh and chilled beef up 0.6% in Jan-Aug 2020 to $189.94m

Belarus increased the export of fresh and chilled beef in January-August 2020 by 0.6% year on year to $189.94 million, says the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat). </p> <p> </p> <p> In physical terms, the export increased in Jan-Aug 2020 by 0.9% to 54,297 tonnes. Supplies to Russia amounted to 31,978 tonnes (down 24% yoy) worth $119.181 million (down 23.2%). </p> <p> </p> <p> The export of meat and edible offal of poultry in Jan-Aug 2020 totaled 135,000 tonnes (up 20.8%) worth $208.006 million (up 18.2%). Russia accounted for 90,739 tonnes (up 0.9%) worth $123.932 million (down 14%). </p> <p> </p> <p> The export of frozen beef in Jan-Aug 2020 amounted to 41,775 tonnes (up 23.6% yoy) worth $141.949 million (up 20.8%). Supplies to Russia totaled 29,657 tonnes (up 11.5%) worth $100.977 million (up 7.1%). </p> <p> </p> <p> Exports of sausages and similar meat products in physical terms increased in Jan-Aug 2020 by 18.7% to 21,164 tonnes; in monetary terms – up 10.2% to $59.454 million.
