Belarus’ export of farm products, food up 5.3% to $1.5bn in Q1 2021

Belarus increased export of agricultural products and foodstuffs by 5.3% year on year in January-March 2021 to $1.5 billion, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Products said in a press-release. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarusian food products were exported to 88 countries in January-March 2021 (in January-March 2020 - 83 countries). </p> <p> </p> <p> “An increase in supplies was observed in almost all regions. Exports to the CIS countries, including the Russian Federation, increased by 0.4%, Asia and Oceania - by 70.1%, the EU - 38.4%, America and the Caribbean - 82.6%, Africa - 78.3%. Food exports to China rose by 87.7%,” the report says. </p> <p> </p> <p> Exports of milk and dairy products rose by 0.3%, beef - by 10.3%, sausage and prepared meat products - 9.2%, fish and fish products - 15.6%, eggs - 48.6%, potatoes - 15.3%, canola oil - 70.3%. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, Belarus increased exports of agricultural products and foodstuffs by 4.3% in 2020 to $5.8 billion.
