Belarus’ export of cheese, cottage cheese up 12.5% in Jan-Oct 2020 to 223,300 tonnes

Belarus increased the export of cheese and cottage cheese in January-October 2020 by 12.5% year on year to 223,300 tonnes, says the National Statistics Committee of Belarus (Belstat). </p> <p> </p> <p> The export of cheese and cottage cheese increased in Jan-Oct 2020 in monetary terms by 7.8% to $869.285 million. Russia accounted for 210,400 tonnes (up 10.6% yoy) worth $817.385 million (up 6%). </p> <p> </p> <p> The export of condensed and dried milk and cream increased in Jan-Oct 2020 by 9.6% to 184,400 tonnes; in monetary terms – up 5.9% to $397.243 million. Supplies to Russia decreased by 3.2% to 104,700 tonnes worth $225.961 million (down 9.7%). </p> <p> </p> <p> The export of butter increased in Jan-Oct 2020 by 9.1% to 72,067 tonnes in physical terms and decreased by 8.9% to $332.929 million in monetary terms. Russia accounted for 66,099 tonnes (up 8.1%) worth $305.307 million (down 10.1%). </p> <p> </p> <p> The export of non-condensed milk and cream increased in Jan-Oct 2020 by 12.6% yoy to 201,200 tonnes. In monetary terms, the export increased by 10.8% to $156.893 million. Russia was supplied with 188,100 tonnes (up 10.7%) worth $149.177 million (up 9.3%). </p> <p> </p> <p> The export of buttermilk, yogurt and kefir grew by 5.5% yoy in Jan-Oct 2020 to 112,600 tonnes. In monetary terms, the export increased by 1.6% to $155.088 million. Russia received 107,200 tonnes (up 3%) worth $147.133 million (down 1.3%). End </p>
