Belarus’ export agency to start operating in 2021 - EconMin

An export agency should start operating in Belarus in 2021, First Deputy Minister of Economy of Belarus Yury Chebotar said during the concluding board meeting on 5 March, the Ministry of Economy said in a press release on 9 March. </p> <p> </p> <p> In 2021 the mechanisms for financial support of exports were expanded. The updated presidential ordinance #534 approved the proposal of the Ministry of Economy to abolish the minimum amount of an export contract, to expand the list of banks and insurance companies involved in its mechanisms. The establishment of an export agency is underway. </p> <p> The body is expected to operate as a full-fledged one-stop shop for the country’s enterprises on issues of financial and non-financial support to exporters. This year, the agency must certainly work in full force," Chebotar said. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, in October 2020, Belarus Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko said that a full-fledged export-import agency should be created in Belarus on the basis of the National Centre for Marketing and Price Study of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with participation of Belarus Development Bank, commercial banks and insurance agencies. This should expand the range of services for exporters in credit, insurance, marketing support, leasing, licensing, tariff and non-tariff support. End </p>
