Belarus expects IT sector to generate 7.5% of GDP in 2025 – government

The share of the IT sector in the gross domestic product (GDP) of Belarus is expected to reach no less than 7.5% in 2025, according to the government action plan for the period to 2025 approved by Council of Ministers’ resolution No.758 of December 24, 2020 posted on the National Legal Internet Portal. </p> <p> </p> <p> In 2019, the share of the IT sector in Belarus’ GDP made up 6.6%. </p> <p> </p> <p> The government also wants to increase the coverage of 4G and 5G mobile telecommunication services to 99% by the end of 2025. </p> <p> </p> <p> The government plans to apply information technologies in public administration and a unified technological policy in the field of digital development.
