Belarus estimates budget losses in 2021 from the tax maneuver in the Russian oil industry at Br350 million ($145.9 million at the official rate of the National Bank of Belarus), Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko said at the session of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers of Belarus on July 21, the government’s press office reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> “It is already obvious that the next year’s budget is being generated in a difficult environment and with limited resources. Direct losses of budget revenues in 2021 from the so-called “tax maneuver” alone are estimated at around Br350 million,” said Golovchenko. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Russian tax maneuver that has been carried out since 2015 provides for the gradual zeroing of the export duty on oil with a simultaneous increase in the tax on extraction. Its final stage falls on 2019-2025. Belarus is losing revenues due to lower export duties and higher costs of Russian oil supplies.
