Belarus’ electric power output up 10.1%/yr in H1 2021 to 18.41bn KWh

Electrical power output of Belarus’ power generating companies controlled by Belenergo Concern grew 10.1% on the year in January-June 2021 to 18.41 billion kilowatt-hours (kWh), Belenergo said in a report. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus’ electric power consumption grew 7.9% yoy in H1 2021 to 19.85 billion kWh. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belenergo notes that in January-June 2021 local fuel and energy resources accounted for 2.2% of total output and the share of renewable energy sources was 1.3%. </p> <p> </p> <p> As previously reported, in 2020, Belenergo enterprises reduced electricity production by 15.56% year on year to 34.035 billion kWh, and heat production by 2.5% to 32 million Gcal. </p> <p> </p> <p> The total rated capacity of Belarus’ power generating sources exceeds 10,143MW.
