Belarus Economy Ministry says large producers must have SMEs among suppliers

The Economy Ministry of Belarus deems it necessary to oblige large producers to have small and medium businesses (SMEs) among their suppliers, said Economy Minister Alexander Chervyakov. </p> <p> </p> <p> “We consider it necessary to develop a regulatory act in the near future, binding large producers to include small and medium businesses among their suppliers, which will be able to provide at least 10-15% of supplies on a competitive basis. And we need to actively use this instrument, especially in terms of import substitution,” Chervyakov said in an interview published in the state-run Respublika daily. </p> <p> </p> <p> Chervyakov said that the Economy Ministry has been analyzing the SMEs situation in three areas: receiving information from regulatory agencies, the regions and directly from business enterprises.
