Belarus due to start ID labelling of dairy products on 8 July

This is provided by a draft resolution of the government of Belarus, which defines a list of products to be marked with ID labels, said the press service of the Ministry of Taxes and Duties of Belarus. </p> <p> </p> <p> Thus, it is planned to start labelling cheese and ice cream from July 8, 2021. It is planned to start marking dairy products with a storage time of over 40 days, including cottage cheese, from September 1, 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> The draft resolution envisages that non-stressed milk and cream without added sugar or other sweetening agents, as well as buttermilk and cream, yogurt, kefir and other fermented or fermented milk and cream, butter, milk paste, whey will be labelled from December 1, 2021. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Tax Ministry’s commentary states that from July 8, 2021 the goods on the list must be marked when importing goods subject to ID labelling into Belarus in cross-border trade (for example, from Russia). </p> <p> </p> <p> Mutual recognition of ID labels between the member states of the Eurasian Economic Union is envisaged. From the date Belarus introduces ID labelling of dairy products, light industry goods, tyres, as well as footwear, relevant means of identification of the Russian model applied to such goods and imported from the territory of the Russian Federation will be recognized in Belarus.
