Belarus Development Bank almost doubles export lending in H1 to Br858.4m
<p> MINSK, Jul 21 - PrimePress. Belarus Development Bank almost doubled export crediting in gross terms year on year in January-June 2021 to Br858.4 million ($338.646 million at the National Bank of Belarus rate). Financial support to small and medium enterprises (SME) increased by 12% to Br152.9 million ($60.32 million, $1/Br2.5348). This was reported by the press service of the bank. </p> <p> </p> <p> “The volume of export credits in gross terms reached Br858.4 million, which is almost 2 times higher than during the first six months of last year. In January-June this year Br152.9 million equivalent was provided to provide financial support to small and medium enterprises (112% compared to the same period in 2020),” reads the report. </p> <p> </p> <p> Besides, in January-June 2021 the equivalent of Br1.15 billion ($453.684 million) was provided for the implementation of investment and other projects, including investment loans to customers and the purchase of targeted bonds to finance social facilities. </p> <p> </p> <p> “In total, during the first half of 2021, the Development Bank provided about Br2.16 billion ($852.138 million – editor’s note) for the implementation of investment and other projects, export crediting and SME support,” the bank’s press service said. </p> <p> </p> <p> The Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus was established in 2011 by presidential decree No.261 of June 21, 2011 to increase the efficiency of projects included in government programs, reduce the time of their implementation and cost recovery.
