Belarus reduced the export of fossil coal in Jan-Mar 2020 by 33.4% year on year to 394,000 tonnes, according to official statistical reports. </p> <p> </p> <p> In monetary terms, Belarus reduced the export of coal in Jan-Mar 2020 by 44.7% yoy to $28.724 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> Belarus does not mine coal. The import of coal into Belarus from the Russian Federation decreased in Jan-Mar 2020 by 41.5% yoy to 367,800 tonnes, by 58.8% in monetary terms to $20.156 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> In total, Belarus reduced the import of coal in Jan-Mar 2020 by 29.5% yoy to 470,700 tonnes; by 54.4% in monetary terms to $23.392 million. </p> <p> </p> <p> As reported, Belarus increased the import of coal from the Russian Federation by 172% year on year in 2019 to 3.468 million tons; spending on the import increased 135% to $205.950 million.
