Belarus changes self-isolation rules to cope with coronavirus challenge
<p> MINSK, May 6 - PrimePress. Government decree No.268 of May 5, 2020 (posted on the National Legal Internet Portal on May 6) changes the rules of individuals’ self-isolation established by government decree No.208 on restrictive measures to cope with the coronavirus epidemic issued on April 8, 2020. </p> <p> </p> <p> According to decree No.268, coronavirus-positive individuals are to inform the authorized bodies and persons about the possible source of infection, and persons they had contacts with, and their places of stay. </p> <p> </p> <p> COVID-19-positive persons and those defined as “first-level contacts” are required to undergo a medical examination. </p> <p> </p> <p> The period of stay in self-isolation can be either extended or reduced by decision of health authorities authorized to conduct medical supervision in the manner and on the grounds established by the Ministry of Health. </p> <p> </p> <p> Self-isolation rules for minors under 10 years of age are to be isolated if they are second-level contacts, display one or more respiratory disease symptoms, and attend kindergartens or schools. Their stay at the places of residence is to be ensured by their legal representatives (parents, guardians, etc.). </p> <p> </p> <p> The decision comes into force on the day of its official publication.
