Belarus’ central bank suggests offering entrepreneurs guaranteed reimbursement of deposits - bill
<p> MINSK, Jul 10 - PrimePress. The National Bank of Belarus (NBB) proposes that self-employed businessmen should be offered guaranteed reimbursement of deposits up to Br100,000 ($41,100) placed on deposit accounts with banks. The regulator also suggests increasing from three to five years the period when individuals and individual entrepreneurs can apply for such reimbursement. </p> <p> </p> <p> The aforementioned measures are part of the bill submitted by the National Bank for public discussion as an package of amendments to Law No. 369-З “On guaranteed reimbursement of bank deposits of individuals” of July 8, 2008. </p> <p> </p> <p> Also, the bill suggests reducing the period of payment of compensation for bank deposits from one month to 7 days (from the date of application for compensation) on applications that do not require additional examination. If additional examination in needed, the period of up to one month is preserved. End </p>
